From Selling to Creating: My Journey Beyond MLM

A personal reflection on my journey through direct sales, what I learned, and why I chose to step away to build a more creative and intentional life with Soluna Studio.

Hi friend,

I want to share a little piece of my journey with you—because if you’ve ever felt torn between following a path that “works” and one that truly feels like you, you’re not alone.

For a season of my life, I was involved in direct sales, including selling jewelry through an MLM company. And I want to be clear about something—I genuinely enjoyed the jewelry. I loved the pieces, I loved connecting with customers, and I was able to sell a good amount during that time.

There was nothing wrong with the products themselves.

But over time, I started to notice something deeper within me.

While I enjoyed selling, I realized I wasn’t drawn to the side of the business that focused heavily on team building. That seemed to be where the real income potential lived, but it just wasn’t where my heart was. I’ve always been someone who enjoys creating, organizing, and building something with intention—not managing a large team or constantly recruiting.

And if I’m being honest… I started to feel limited.

There are a lot of rules within MLM structures—what you can say, how you can present things, how you can brand yourself. And while I understand why those rules exist, I began to feel like I couldn’t fully express who I was or what I wanted to build.

That’s when something shifted in me.

I realized that I didn’t just want to sell…

I wanted to create.

I wanted the freedom to:

  • choose what I offer

  • design things in my own style

  • build something that reflects my values

  • and grow at my own pace

That desire is what led me to create Soluna Studio.

Some of the jewelry you’ll still find here is part of that earlier season, and I’m grateful for it. It was a stepping stone. It taught me about sales, about people, and about what I don’t want moving forward.

But this new chapter?

This is different.

This is about building a life and a business with intention.
This is about creativity, freedom, and doing things in a way that feels peaceful—not pressured.

If you’ve ever found yourself in something that looked right on the outside but didn’t fully fit on the inside, I hope this encourages you:

You’re allowed to shift.
You’re allowed to grow.
You’re allowed to choose a different path.

Sometimes the thing that “works” isn’t the thing that’s meant for you long-term.

And that’s okay.

I’m so glad you’re here walking this journey with me.
